Daily Reflection: Wednesday, July 7

Wednesday, July 7

Saints of God, the Lord be with you! During my 5 ½ years spent in Raleigh, NC I ministered to Catholic prisoners on death row. During our weekly mass, instead of saying “I believe in God…” during the Creed, I asked them to say, “I trust in God…”. Anyone can believe in God, even the devil does that. To trust in God is much more difficult as the men on death row told me. Today’s Responsorial Psalm (33) proclaims, “ Lord, let your mercy be upon us, as we place our trust in you.” Is it easy for you to trust the Lord? Why/why not?
