Tuesday, August 24 Feast of St. Bartholomew 

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him

“Here is a true child of Israel.

There is no duplicity in him.”  (Jn 1:47)

 Nathanael responded, “You are the Son of God.”   There was an instantaneous, clear and mutual recognition.  We know the expression: Love at first sight.  This is different.  Jesus and Nathanael see each other at their core.  Jesus welcomes Nathanael into fellowship and Nathanael commits himself to discipleship.  We desire to make our relationship with the Lord so simple and unalloyed.
