Daily Reflection: Friday, January 5

Friday, January 5, 2024 – Memorial St. John Neuman https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/010524.cfm

In today’s gospel we read about Jesus calling Philip and Nathanael. When Philip tells Nathanael about Jesus, Nathanael response. “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” Nathanael is not a bad person. He is conditioned by his upbringing. He judges others by where they come from. We too are condition by upbringing and were handed down prejudices from our families. Our families were not bad, we are all flawed by sin and unable to see the goodness of everyone because we all are made in the image and likeness of our God. Today, pray for forgiveness for the times we judged people wrongly and the grace to see everyone as a child of God.
