Daily Reflection: Friday, May 12
Friday, May 12, 2023 - 5th Week of Easter https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/051223.cfm
“This is my commandment: love one another as I have loved you.” Jesus said this to his disciples in today’s gospel reading. He is also saying this to us. It is very difficult to love like Jesus loves, this is because we confuse the world’s idea of love with divine love. Divine love is a mutual respect given to each other because we know that we are all created in the image and likeness of our God. Because of this we offer reverence and goodness to others, not because they think and feel the same way we do. Today invite the Holy Spirit to help you to pray for those you find difficult to love, asking the Spirit to give them what they need.
