Daily Reflection: Monday, November 15

Monday, November 15

Bl. Mary of the Passion was beatified in 2002. She was the foundress of the Franciscan Sisters of Mary, a community of women from around the world that combines contemplation and an active mission. I knew many of them in New York City, in Florida and in Rhode Island. In any community, there are Sisters from various parts of the world- they truly are international. In India where women in poor health were unwilling to be seen by a male doctor, the Sisters were trained to provide medical care for these women. Their sensitivity to the cultures throughout the world makes them effective in their care for people with various needs. Say a prayer today for the Sisters and thank God for their good work.

Fr. Andrew
