Today Responsorial Psalm is taken from Psalm 130. The New American Bible entitles this psalm as a Prayer for Pardon and Mercy. Yesterday I reflected on how we judge others. At times we can be harsh judging of our very self. The author of the psalm wants to receive comfort from God. “Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord; Lord, hear my voice!” Reflect: Do I cry out to the Lord to comfort me? Or do I hold on to my harsh self-judgment? The psalm goes on: “I trust in the Lord; my souls trust in his word. My soul waits for the Lord more than sentinels wait for the dawn.” Reflect: Do I trust in the Lord? Am I willing to let God’s compassion to heal me?
