Daily Reflection: Saturday, November 6

November 6. Saturday of the Thirty-First Week in Ordinary Time

 A holy kiss.  (Rom 16:16)

Saint Paul, hoping to visit then on his way to preach in Spain (never got there), wrote to the Christians in Rome.  He already knew a good number of them.  At the end of his letter to the Romans, Paul greets them, many by name.  The bonds they share are remarkable.  Prisca and Aquila had “risked their necks” for Paul.  Andronicus and Junia were Paul’s relatives and knew the Lord before Paul did.  Paul loves them all and writes, “Greet one another with a holy kiss.”  This is the affection of Christians for one another.
