Daily Reflection: Monday, August 7

Monday, August 7

“They all ate and were satisfied.” St. Matthew’s Gospel for the day tells us of Jesus feeding the thousands. We can see several things from Chapter 14: the crowds following Jesus were huge and Jesus responds to their situation with an overwhelming response. There was more than enough for the crowd of 5,000 and it says “not counting women and children” …and 12 baskets of fragments left over. Jesus’ love for the people is manifested in so many ways in the Gospels…and even now.
