Daily Reflection: Friday, May 10

Friday May 10

The Lord said to Paul: “Do not be afraid. Go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you.” And Paul did as the Lord commanded him. We also are encouraged to speak out our faith in Jesus, to not be afraid, for we are not alone. We may not be folks who easily speak eloquent words that will attract others and inspire them to conversion. However, we are people whose commitment to follow Jesus speaks through our actions and can inspire others to do the same. Our actions cannot be ‘silent’! We may not keep our faith to ourselves out of fear of offending or being seen as ‘holier than thou’. We are challenged by the presence of God with us to share our faith, especially when the culture around us is in direct contradiction to our beliefs. God will give us the strength we need.
