Celebrating World Marriage Day 2022

A Message for all DoT Parishes from the Department of Evangelization and Family Life…

The Department of Evangelization and Family Life is pleased to provide all parishes with a full set of resources for a very special celebration of World Marriage Day (Sunday, February 13, 2022) and National Marriage Week USA (February 7-14, 2022).

All resources for the Diocese of Trenton can be found on these web pages:

www.dioceseoftrenton.org/world-marriage-day

www.dioceseoftrenton.org/world-marriage-day-for-parishes (see clergy packet and downloadable liturgy resources on this page)

www.dioceseoftrenton.org/world-marriage-day-for-couples

We encourage all parishes to set aside either Sunday, February 6, 2022, the kick-off of National Marriage Week, or Sunday, February 13, 2022, the traditional observance of World Marriage Day, to incorporate some or all of the various prayers, blessings and opportunities for married couple witness into the Saturday Vigil or Sunday Liturgy. A host of liturgy options, activities and information for parishes to celebrate World Marriage Day can be easily accessed from the web page for parishes cited above.

We are also offering a full range of resources for married couples to celebrate World Marriage Day together at home in three ways: 1) Reconnecting with their Spouse; 2) Making their Marriage Even Better; or 3) Serving Others in their Marriage

Unfortunately, the USCCB is delayed in updating resources for World Marriage Day and National Marriage Week 2022; we expect they will be available soon. Many of the great resources from 2021 are still available:  https://www.usccb.org/topics/marriage-and-family-life-ministries/national-marriage-week.

This year we would like to share any activities or events you are planning for your parish on our World Marriage Day web page. Please send us a description of any large group World Marriage Day parish activities or events, including dates and times, to Peg Hensler (phensler@dioceseoftrenton.org).

For assistance with any World Marriage Day or National Marriage Week activities, please contact Peg Hensler, Associate Director for Marriage Ministries and NFP; phensler@dioceseoftrenton.org; 609-403-7156.
