The “Transitus” is Latin for a crossing or passage and it is the night when we commemorate St Francis’ passage from his earthly life into eternal life with God. Through a series of narratives and scripture, hymns and blessings, we come to know how St. Francis received his Sister Death with such happiness…. how he consoled his brothers not to mourn, but to rejoice. The beauty of his Transitus is both comfort and inspiration in anxious times. Won’t you join us and our Franciscan friars, our deacon and sisters, and the Secular Franciscans as we embrace the Peace of Francis and “ renew our own commitment to follow Christ in the way of the poor man of Assisi. “
