Saturday of the Nineteenth Week in Ordinary Time

“Let the little children come to me, and do not prevent them;

for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to just such as these.”

After he placed his hands on them, he went away.   (Mt 19:14-15) 

We are used philosophizing about the qualities of children that makes them models of receiving the Kingdom so that we might imitate them.  However, maybe we ought simply  to stand back and admire the scene and consider Jesus’ gentle approach.
