Daily Reflection: Friday, April 8
Friday of the Fifth Week of Lent
We are not stoning you for a good work but for blasphemy. You, a man, are making yourself God. (Jn 10: 33)
We take it for granted that Jesus is God. Jews of Jesus’ day could not. They saw Jesus do things that God does, like heal, and say the things that God says, like “Your sins are forgiven.” Some were moved to faith in Jesus, but most were not. It was like they saw the world and Jesus while wearing blinders. Though we are believers, we might still ask for the grace to see Jesus in all his fullness. And then follow him more closely.
