Daily Reflection: Monday, April 25

Monday, April 25

We begin the Second Week of Easter with the Feast of St. Mark, the Evangelist. His Gospel was the first Gospel to be written about the year 70 AD. Thus, he has had a significant influence on much of the New Testament. He portrays Jesus as the suffering servant and crucified Messiah. It is the shortest of the four Gospels. Our opening prayer at Mass says: “may we so profit from his teaching as to follow faithfully in the footsteps of Christ.” Spend some time today with this Gospel.
