Daily Reflection: Wednesday, June 16

Wednesday, June 16

Saints of God, the Lord be with you! Today’s Responsorial Psalm (112) says, “ Blessed the man (sic) who fears the Lord.” In a recent homily I suggested that we replace the word fear with the word awe: Blessed is the one who is in awe of the Lord. Yesterday’s reflection gave us all a reason to be in awe of the Lord: while on the cross Jesus not only forgave us, but even made excuses for our bad behavior (Luke 23: 24).
