Thursday of the Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time

 Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory because of your kindness, because of your truth.  (Ps 115:1)

There are times when we pray for success, our own or someone else’s.  This psalm hopes not for our own good, but for God’s glory.  It might seem that our victories redound to the glory of God, but the psalm is more profound.  God’s kindness and truth show the gentle glory of God.
