Daily Reflection: Monday, June 14

Monday, June 14

Saints of God, the Lord be with you! Today’s Gospel according to Matthew (5:38-42) is difficult to read and even more difficult to live since for most of us our natural inclination to being wronged is to retaliate in kind. However, we have the Holy Spirit living within us to help us not to perpetuate violence done to us. Let’s call on the Holy Spirit to help us in these situations, and remember the words of Gandhi, “An eye for an eye will make the world blind.”
