Daily Reflection: Thursday, June 6

Thursday June 6

“Beloved: Remember Jesus Christ. . .” Paul’s admonition to Timothy is also directed to us. Remember Jesus Christ! Remember him when faced with a choice between paying attention to the poor and marginalized or ignoring them. Remember Jesus when politics gets in the way of Gospel living. Remember him when you are tired of being faithful to the two commandments of love. Remember him when you are suffering and alone. Remember Jesus when you feel like life has given you too much to bear. And even if we forget, Paul tells us that if we are unfaithful, God remains faithful, for God cannot deny Godself.
