Daily Reflection: Wednesday, June 19

Wednesday, June 19

Today’s Gospel should be familiar to you because it is the Gospel that we hear every Ash Wednesday as we begin Lent. What is asked of us is to be careful how we act- not for show or to get attention and to appear holy. Many good deeds that we do are done for God alone and it takes some humility to conduct yourself in this manner. God is indeed worthy of our good deeds. When we were young, we were told to “offer it up” but this was generally negative things. How much better to “offer up” and thank God for the good that we do each day.

Fr. Andrew
