Daily Reflection: Wednesday, June 26

Wednesday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time

So by their fruits you will know them.  (Mt 7:20)

This  verse comes at the end of a warning about false prophets.  They look good in sheep’s clothing and even attract crowds.  They are good at quoting Scripture.  Confusion is their fruit.

Our sense of the faith makes us uneasy with false prophets and we naturally tend to shy away from them.  Our safeguards are prayerful reading of the Bible, sacraments and our community.
