Daily Reflection: Saturday, July 6

Saturday July 6

“Pour new wine into fresh wineskins.” There are many ways for newness to come to being. In most cases this requires some clearing out of the old - it may mean decluttering our closets and our homes, examining our actions and letting go of hard held opinions, going to confession and lifting our burdens of sin and selfishness – we each can make our own list of things that keep us from living the newness to which we are called. The new wine in the fresh skins has a richness that, when aged appropriately, gives pleasure to all who taste it. May our newness bring joy to others and to ourselves!
