Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you.    (Lk 1:28)

When we hold in our arms a newborn fresh from the hand of God, we perceive perfect innocence.  By the time of the terrible twos and evidence of willfulness, we may have cause for doubt.  I think that the Virgin Mary was a normal child, but in this feast we celebrate the innocence that never left her.  Her will was always in line with the will of the Father.  The difference between her and us is clear, so let us ask her for help in following the will of the Father.
