Memorial of Saint Ambrose, Bishop and Doctor

My yoke is easy, and my burden light. (Mt 11:30)

Easy? Light? A yoke is a yoke and a burden is a burden. How can they be easy or light? It not that we simply become accustomed to them, but rather that they are different. The Lord’s yoke and burden for us change us. It takes time, but they actually become a source of joy. Perseverance and love are required.
