Saturday, January 27

St. Angela Merici is a saint that not many know much about. She was a teacher to poor children and attracted women to join her; however, they did not take vows, have a habit or live together unlike other religious. Her group eventually evolved into the Ursaline Sisters. She indeed, did live out what she once said: “Strive to be faithful to that which God has called you.” The Ursalines are known for being great educators today. What began small has evolved into an important religious community.
