Memorial of St. Agatha, Virgin and Martyr

The Lord intends to dwell in the dark cloud.  (1 Kings 8: 12)

With these words, Solomon reflects on the cloud of God’s glory that fills the Temple on the day of the Temple’s dedication, and on the darkness of the interior Holy of Holies.  But his words also describe the Mystery of God who is beyond our comprehension .

There are moments when our lives seem to be lived in an impenetrable black cloud.  It’s okay:  God is there.
