Daily Reflection: Saturday, February 3

Saturday, February 3, 2024 – Memorial of St. Blaise

Yesterday we have the blessing of the candles used in our liturgies today we have the blessing of the throats. St. Blaise was a physician who became the bishop of Sebaste (Turkey). He is reputed to have healed a boy who was choking on a fish bone, by praying over him. Tradition is to use two candles crossed for today’s blessing. Today let us pray that all who suffer from illness of the throat finding healing from God.
