Daily Reflection: Wednesday, February 7

Wednesday of the Fifth Week in Ordinary Time

Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person;

but the things that come out from within are what defile.  (Mk 7:15)

What is on the inside?  What am I, really?   I like to think of myself as a nice guy, but there are times when I wonder.  What are these thoughts that I have?  Are they really mine?  Of course they are!  It is not important that people recognize me as a nice guy.  What matters is that I work to let the grace of God bear fruit in me.  Then what comes out of me will be worthy of the One to whom I belong.
