Daily Reflection: Saturday, February 4

Saturday of the Fourth Week in Ordinary Time

“Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.”  [Mk 6”31]

Jesus knew what his disciples needed after their first efforts at ministry without him.  Of course, they were to rest with him.    Jesus knows that from time to time we, too, need to go to a deserted place.   But, as with much else that Jesus asks, we are too busy and we can’t afford the time.  Our work and other commitments don’t allow us.  That is how important we are.

 Jesus knows what we need.

 John Frambes, ofm
