Daily Reflection: Thursday, February 2

Feast of the Presentation of the Lord

…He had to become like his brothers and sisters in every way,

that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest before God

to expiate the sins of the people.

Because he himself was tested through what he suffered,

he is able to help those who are being tested.  [Heb 2:17-18]

He became one of us.  Idealistically, we want to be in solidarity with God’s anawhim, God’s little ones, the poor, sick, broken, lost, abandoned ones.  Even when we are at our best, we know that the Lord is more.  He become one with all humanity that we might be healed.
