Daily Reflection: Monday, August 26

Today’s readings are in strong contrast to each other. The Gospel condemns those who are hypocritical in the way they live and lead others astray. It warns us against keeping others from the kingdom of God. The first reading however, has Paul telling the Thessalonians that he is thankful for the way they have grown in faith. He promises to continue to pray for them that they may become worthy of the calling they have received. Hopefully we are living in a manner that would have Paul give thanks for us so that we may glorify God by our lives.
