Daily Reflection: Friday, August 30

“Stay awake.” It is easy to get so busy with many things that we are not ready when God steps into our lives unexpectedly. The wise virgins in today’s gospel were prepared for whatever would come their way. Their vigil was longer than usual but they stayed alert and were rewarded for their patience. God asks us to be attentive to the ways we may be called to service and to be ready to respond with generosity.
