Daily Reflection: Thursday, August 29

“God is faithful!” Paul in his first letter to the Corinthians challenges us to respond to God’s faithfulness by being faithful ourselves.  John the Baptist was faithful unto death, speaking God’s truth to power even when it was dangerous for him. We have what we need through the grace of the Holy Spirit to speak the truth even when it is unpopular. This may have consequences for us, but most likely not a physical beheading! May we have the strength we need to be instruments of God’s truth in a complex world.
