Daily Reflection: Friday, August 9, 2024 - 18th Week in Ordinary Time

“Learn then that I, I alone, am God, and there is no god beside me. It is I who bring both death and life, I who inflict wounds and heal them,” This comes from a psalm found in the Book of Deuteronomy. What a powerful statement! I alone, am God! Do we really believe this? Are their things material or ideas that I hold so tightly that my whole focus is on them and therefor become my god? Today pray for the courage and strength to let go of our false gods that block our relationship with the true God.
