Daily Reflection: Thursday, August 8, 2024 – Memorial of St. Dominic

Today we celebrate the memorial of St. Dominic, he was a contemporary of St. Francis of Assisi. Like Francis he founded a mendicant order known as the Order of Preachers (Dominicans). They were formed to preach against theological errors. Legend has it that Dominic and Francis met in person and reverenced each other's work. It is custom that Dominicans invite the Franciscan to their feast today and the Franciscans invited the Dominicans to celebrate the feast of Francis.

St. Dominic pray for us.
