Daily Reflection: Wednesday, December 13

Wednesday December 13, 2023

"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Jesus invites us to come to him and we will find rest. But first he tells us to learn from him who is meek and humble of heart. Unless we are willing to be meek and humble we will not find the rest for which we are seeking. It is simple – we cannot approach God full of our own accomplishments and pride and expect God to give us rest. We are called to let go. When we do, we will be relieved of our burdens and able to enjoy God’s presence.
