Daily Reflection: Wednesday, January 3

January 3, Christmas Weekday

Beloved, we are God’s children now;

what we shall be has not yet been revealed.

We do know that when it is revealed we shall be like him,

for we shall see him as he is.  (1Jn 3:2)

God is not done with us.  Already we have the joyful privilege and responsibility of being God’s adopted children, but there is greater blessing to come.  Once he is revealed, we shall be like the Lord.  If you want to know what heaven is like, being like the Lord is a good definition.  To see him as he is, to see as he sees, and to love as he loves.  Every hatred or coolness, all judgement of others, bitterness, wounds and animosity will be blown away.  We shall be like him and live eternally in the Presence of God, totally love and totally loving.
