Daily Reflection: Wednesday, May 24

Wednesday of the Seventh Week of Easter

In every way I have shown you that by hard ward work…we must help the weak,

and keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus who himself said,

“It is more blessed to give than to receive.”  (Acts 20:35)

Noblesse oblige.  It is hard not to congratulate oneself for being good to others.  It may be our duty, but doesn’t it feel grand?  Those of us who are well blessed by God and the world, must work hard on our hearts and souls to be one with the little ones whom God loves.

My experience with God’s little ones is that they want to give me something.  I want to turn it down, but they deserve the blessing and joy of fulfilling the words of Jesus.  My lesson in humility.
