Daily Reflection: Monday, March 27

March 27 Monday of the Fifth Week in Lent

“Has no one condemned you?”

“No one, sir.”

“Neither do I condemn you.  Go, and from now on do not sin any more.”  (Jn 8:11)

There is no interrogation, no harrangue.  With perfect patience for a fragile human being, Jesus sends the woman away with a simple admonition to avoid sin.  No doubt, she knew that she had barely escaped being stoned.  Her life was given back to her.

We know how ready people are to believe the worst and be quick to judge.  Jesus shows us that we can imitate him.  And we should because we are all like the woman he has freed.
