GOSPEL REFLECTIONS: APRIL 12

Monday, April 12

Saints of God, the Lord be with you! Once again we meet our old friend Nicodemus (John 3:1-8) who is perplexed when Jesus says that we must be born again of water and the Spirit.  I don’t know about you, but I see overtones of baptism. Jesus death and resurrection has freed us from sin and guilt in order to be transformed into Christ himself (this from St. Augustine). The question is, how do we live this “born again” life in the world?
