Daily Reflection: Monday, May 24

Monday, May 24

This is the second year for a new feast day in the church. Pope Francis made the Monday after Pentecost the Memorial of Mary, Mother of the Church. This title of Mary reminds me of a statue that I first saw in Europe of Mary with her cloak embracing the figures of individuals from various nations. You truly see her as the Mother of the Church, a church from all parts of the earth. Today, as we pray the Hail Mary, remember that we are praying this prayer with people throughout the world in many languages.

Fr. Andrew
