Daily Reflection: Monday, June 19

Memorial of Saint Romuald, abbot

We cause no one to stumble in anything, in order that no fault may be found with our ministry; on the contrary, in everything we we commend ourselves as ministers of God, through much endurance, in afflictions, hardships, constraints, beatings …vigils, fasts; … in unfeigned love….  (2Cor 6:3-8)

This is one of St. Paul’s long sentences.  It is good advice for ministers and for everyone who identifies as Christian.  We want to do all we can to share the good news and we do not want to do anything as disciples that would weaken our credibility or, more importantly, the credibility of the Teacher.

John Frambes, ofm
