Daily Reflection: Friday, July 7

Friday, July 7, 2023 – 13th Week in Ordinary Time https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/070723.cfm

“I desire mercy, not sacrifice.” We heard Jesus say in today’s gospel reading. The Pharisees asked the disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” Who are the tax collectors and sinners of our world today that we need to show mercy to? Also, we hear Jesus ask Matthew to follow him. How is Jesus calling us to follow his footsteps?
