Friday September 22
Luke tells us that Jesus moved around a great deal in his ministry, accompanied by the Twelve and some women who provided for them. He did not sit and wait for folks to come to him, although they did as soon as they heard of his presence in their area. The ministry of Jesus was one of going out to those who needed to hear his teachings. We also are called to go out to those on the margins, to those who may not even know what they need. Sitting in Church on a Sunday morning is good for us, but it is not enough. There are ways for us to reach out to others, sharing our faith in God’s goodness and love. May we be open to how God calls each of us to follow Jesus.
