Daily Reflection: Saturday, September 23

Saturday September 23

We may wonder in the parable of the sower if the one sowing was not negligent in where he cast the seeds. But rather than negligent, we need to see the sower as profligate! He sowed with generous abandon, giving all the ground a chance to respond to the gift is was being given. I believe that is how God is with us – God sows the word everywhere knowing that it will not all be productive, but giving all equal chance to hear it. It is up to us to respond in the way that will bear fruit, to be the good and rich soil.
