Daily Reflection: Thursday, October 26

Thursday, October 26, 2023 – 29th Week in Ordinary Time https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/102623.cfm

Today psalm is the first psalm in the Book of Psalms. The New American Bible entitles this psalm as True Happiness in God’s Love. This is a very brief poem. This psalm talks about the gift of our freewill. How we can choose to either to be in relationship with God or we can reject God’s invitation. Verse 2 we read, “Rather, the law of the Lord is their joy…” The Law is not about following a set a rules – the law tells us how to love God and love our neighbors. Is the law of the Lord our joy? Is the Divine Love the joy of our lives?
