25th Week in Ordinary Time

https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/092321.cfm

In our first reading the prophet Haggai, announces God’s displeasure in the fact that the city of Jerusalem was becoming a wealthy and beautiful city. Homes where a show places for their owner’s wealth.  However, God’s house, the temple was becoming run down. Are we more concerned about displaying our wealth? Do we place our outward appearance and showing our wealth our first priority and God our second?
