Daily Reflection: Monday, March 25

Monday, March 25

Today we enter into the holiest of weeks in the life of the church. This Evening the Chrism Mass is celebrated in the Diocese. We will attend and receive some of the consecrated oil that is used at Baptism and Confirmation and we will receive the oil of the sick and the oil of catechumens, all of them used here in our parish. At Baptism the child is anointed with this chrism with the words: “Almighty God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ has freed you from sin, given you a new birth by water and the Holy Spirit, and joined you to His people. He now anoints you with the chrism of salvation so that you may remain members of Christ, Priest, Prophet and King, unto eternal life.”

Fr. Andrew
