Daily Reflection: Thursday, June 30

Thursday, June 30

There were many martyrs in the early church and today we remember the first ones. It was not easy to openly practice your faith. Jesus took many chances in his life. We read of one in today’s Gospel where a paralytic is brought to him and Jesus forgives his sins and tells him “Rise and walk.” Many of the scribes said that he was blaspheming. Sometimes, we are not accepted and this may happen even with people that we thought we knew. We need to be true to ourselves. Often our thoughtfulness and kindness are misunderstood.
