Daily Reflection: Thursday, July 7

July 7   Thursday of the 14th Week in Ordinary Time

As you enter a house wish it peace.  If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it.  (Mt 10:12-13)

We are used to bringing house gifts when we visit someone. Maybe flowers, chocolate or wine.  A far greater gift is the gift of peace, the Lord’s peace.  The host is responsible for hospitality, but the visitor is, too.  The visitor opens a peaceful heart where the host may find rest.
