Daily Reflection: Tuesday, November 14

Tuesday November 14

The reading from the Book of Wisdom is often used at funeral liturgies. I love the line referring to those who have died: “They shall shine and shall dart about as sparks through stubble . . .” It is a lovely image of life with God where we shall be sparks of God’s light and love. The image is one of action – delightful action darting about! God promises us life unlike anything we already know. As we remember our beloved dead this month, let us image them darting about in God’s presence giving light to each other.
